Forms App ("we", "our", "the app") lets you create, edit, preview, publish, and view responses for real Google Forms directly from your phone, using your own Google account. This Privacy Policy explains in detail what information the app accesses, why, how it's stored and protected, and what choices and rights you have.
1. Information We Collect
- Google Account info: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo URL.
- Profile data: If you edit your profile in the app, your display name and a photo you upload are stored. Uploaded photos are resized and stored securely; they are not shared with anyone outside your account.
- Forms you create: Titles, descriptions, questions, question types, options, and settings for forms you build or edit in the app are stored so you can access them later.
- Form responses: Responses submitted to your forms are read (with your permission) so we can display them to you inside the app.
- Google Forms & Drive access: With your permission, the app can create and read Google Forms in your Google account, and list Drive files related to those forms (including forms you created outside the app), so you can manage everything in one place. We do not access or read the contents of unrelated Drive files.
- Push notification token: Your device's Firebase Cloud Messaging token is stored so we can notify you when a form you own receives a new response. This is tied to your device, not used to identify you elsewhere.
- Subscription/purchase data: If you subscribe to Premium, we store which plan you purchased, your purchase token, and the purchase date, all provided to us by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your card number or other payment details — Google Play handles the actual payment.
- App preferences: Your selected language and display preferences (like the data-saving thumbnail mode) are stored locally on your device.
We do not collect payment/financial information, precise location, contacts, call logs, SMS, or biometric data.
2. Permissions & Account Access We Request
- Internet access — required to communicate with Google's servers.
- Photo access (via the system picker) — only when you choose to change your profile photo or attach an image/video to a form; the app never scans your photo library in the background.
- Notifications — to alert you when someone submits a new response to one of your forms.
forms.body— to create and edit the structure of Google Forms you build in the app.drive.file— to manage the Drive files (forms) the app itself creates, including sharing settings you configure.drive.metadata.readonly— to list the Google Forms already in your Drive, so the app can show a complete "All Forms" list, including ones created outside the app.forms.responses.readonly— to read the responses submitted to your forms, so we can display them to you inside the app.
You can review or revoke any of these permissions anytime from your Google Account — Third-party access settings.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To let you sign in and identify your account
- To create, display, edit, publish, and organize the forms you build
- To show you a unified list of all your forms, including ones created outside the app
- To show form responses inside the app (Summary, List, and Individual views)
- To personalize your profile (display name, photo) and per-form theme color
- To let you invite collaborators ("editors") to a form, using the email addresses you provide
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
4. Where Your Data Is Stored
Your form content and responses are stored directly on Google's own servers as part of your Google Drive/Forms account, governed by Google's own Privacy Policy. We only access this data through official, authorized Google APIs with your permission.
App-specific data — your display name, an optional compressed profile photo, a local index of your forms (titles, links, dates, star/bin status), your Premium subscription status and purchase token, your push-notification device token, and a few app-only settings that Google's public API doesn't expose (like response limits or progress-bar display) — is stored using Firebase (Google Cloud) services, specifically Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore, restricted to your own signed-in account only.
5. Google API Services User Data Policy
Forms App's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We only use Google user data to provide or improve the form-building features visible in the app.
- We do not use Google user data to serve ads.
- We do not allow humans to read Google user data except with your affirmative consent, for security purposes, to comply with law, or when the data has been aggregated and anonymized.
- We do not transfer Google user data to third parties, except as necessary to provide the app's features, to comply with law, or with your explicit consent.
6. Sharing of Information
We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Information may be shared only:
- With Google, as necessary to provide sign-in and Forms/Drive/Firebase functionality
- At your direction — e.g., when you add a collaborator's email as a form editor, or share a form's link
- If required by law, regulation, or valid legal process
- As part of a business transfer (e.g., merger or acquisition), with notice provided to you
7. Data Retention & Deletion
App-specific data (profile customizations, form index, app-only settings) is retained as long as your account is active. Deleting a form in the app also removes its app-specific record from our database. You can request deletion of your account and associated app-specific data at any time by contacting us below. Your actual form content and responses live in your own Google Account and can be deleted anytime directly from Google Forms or Drive, independent of this app.
8. Your Rights & Choices
- Access the app-specific data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data — update your display name/photo anytime in Settings
- Delete your app-specific data by contacting us
- Withdraw consent anytime by signing out and revoking the app's access from your Google Account
- Data portability — your form content already lives in your Google Account and can be exported directly from Google Forms/Drive
9. Security
- All network communication uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Access to your app-specific Firestore data is enforced by database security rules that only permit your own authenticated account to read or write its own records
- We never see or store your Google password — authentication is handled entirely by Google Sign-In
- Profile photos saved in-app are compressed and size-limited before storage
10. Children's Privacy
Forms App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. Third-Party Services & Links
The app integrates with Google Sign-In, Google Forms API, Google Drive API, and Firebase. Any links shown by Google Forms itself (e.g. its own Terms/Privacy links) lead to Google's own properties and are governed by Google's policies, not this one.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
